Keelboat Sailing Regatta

This additional activity should ideally be supplementary to the Core Activity Keelboat Crew Course.

This is in effect day 3 or 4 of a school trip, and is when the students are able to show their mastery of sailing. The course is a straight forward one that allows the boats plenty of room but still makes racing exciting.
Instructors will spend the morning teaching students how to race, and then in the afternoon we let them race, but with the instructor on board, to ensure there are no accidents.
The regatta will have about 4-6 short races and we will set a start line with our larger yachts and with our Safety boat in attendance. Medals or certificates can be assigned to the students who win, or come second or third. This is a great opportunity for video and photography for students engaged in media projects.
