Sail in Asia’s Environmental philosophy
Outdoor Education in Asia’s believes that all sailors should be environmentally responsible, which is also a core element of ISSA’s teaching programmes. Whilst we know that sailing around in some of Phuket’s crystal clear waters is an experience that many will remember, we also believe that we need to help future sailors to help preserve these waters for others to enjoy.
As part of this commitment we encourage school groups to choose this activity so that your students can start to realise the effect that irresponsible waste disposal can have on the waters and beaches. Within this activity you students will be supported to collect and segregate the rubbish they find and consider where it may have come from and what effect it could have if not removed from the beaches.
This activity is great when combined with an afternoon visit to Phuket Aquarium to further reinforce the environmental responsibility that we all have.
