The Outdoor Education Philosophy at Sail in Asia
At Outdoor Education in Asia we believe in a student-centred approach to learning. Our adventure activities are professionally designed, to provide, comprehensive experiential learning activities. Check out our range of water-based and land based activities.
We can offer the International Award for our Sailing Expeditions.We train your students to use our boats and then form crews to manage the yachts, with the minimum instructor or teacher intervention. Our main aim is to ensure the students have fun, while learning the ropes and aiming to make them a great team, able and confident to make autonomous choices, as they sail the islands, around Phuket. School Trip Management
Sail in Asia arranges and organises your Schools trip or expedition, in conjunction with lead teachers. We review all aspects – such as pre-training, routes, catering, camping arrangements, health and safety, risk assessments and the particular activities chosen by the school. This is a bespoke process that occurs in a Pre Visit or Skype Conference.
Inshore or Offshore Expeditions
Sail in Asia arranges and organises your two kinds of International Award expeditions on Keelboats and Yachts, in conjunction with lead teachers. Keelboat International Award Expeditions are conducted on our Platus, we have seven and they enable us to run inshore island hopping expeditions.
Offshore Sailing Flotilla voyages
We now are able to take 5 /6 yachts on Sailing trips in Thailand and Malaysia. We spend three or four days training students to sail our vessels and then we take the boats on short voyages with yachts sailing in flotilla and with students navigating and running the vessels under the safe tutelage of highly experienced and qualified teachers and instructors.

The Outdoor Education in Asia programme is focuses on students aged 12-18 years, although we can also offer adventure activity for Top Juniors in Primary schools.
We have three distinctly different water sports bases:
- Krabi Boat Lagoon
- Ao Yon Bay (South Phuket)
- The PlayYard (North Phuket)
International Award Options with Sail in Asia
Our Offshore Expeditions for International Awards are conducted on our Offshore Blue Water Sailing Yachts. This activity is usually a 8-10 day training and expedition. Students start by 3/4 days learning to crew the keelboats or yachts and learning how to navigate the yachts using electronics, By the time they have completed training they can run watches and generally ‘handle the boat’, for the entire journey, with teachers in support in another yacht (but only where necessary). This is a unique journey and we believe is very hard to find anywhere else in the world. Sail in Asia run the biggest outdoor education waterspouts base in Asia.
